The year 2010 marks the 1950th anniversary of the arrival of St. Paul on Malta, when he was shipwrecked allegedly near to what are now known as St Paul’s Islands, at the mouth of St Paul’s Bay in the north of Malta. Rumours started back in September 2009 that His Holiness may be visiting Malta to mark the occasion, and on 14th November, Archbishop Paul Cremona OP turned the speculation into reality when he confirmed that the Papal visit would take place on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th April 2010.

Accommodation with Swimming Pool
Malta’s Mediterranean climate lends itself to a sun-seeking lifestyle, with swimming being possible for 6-7 months of the year. Many apartments available for rental on a short or long-term basis, however, don’t have swimming pools and many people rely on swimming in the sea.
The sea around Malta and Gozo is some of the clearest in Europe, but some residents and holiday makers prefer the convenience of a swimming pool. To find accommodation with a swimming can be a challenge, and sometimes such properties are costly, but knowing where to look can be a help.
Easter Weather in Malta
Every year, tourists flock to Malta for Easter, many expecting a Mediterranean holiday in the sun, but at this time of year, the weather can be unpredictable with a run of warm, sunny days often interrupted with strong winds and showers. With Easter falling in March or April, early Spring can bring average daytime temperatures of between 17-19C, with lows of around 10-12C at night, but exceptions are likely. In 2010, the highest temperature recorded to date was in February when the thermometer touched 24C, so this Easter may be slightly warmer than normal.
ICT Jobs in Malta
Over recent years, Malta has become quite a hub for the IT industry in the Mediterranean. With a warm, mostly sunny climate, English as an official language and good tax incentives for IT companies, Malta has attracted a number of foreign-owned companies to its shores. The two main areas of the industry that are popular in Malta are the software development and the iGaming industries, and there is a high demand for people with IT-related and marketing skills. The University of Malta offers degrees in IT and Business and Computing, and many students opt to study IT-related courses abroad, or via correspondence with overseas universities.
Malta Football
Football is one of Malta’s most popular sports, both for spectators and players. The sport has a national governing body, The Malta Football Association (MFA) – founded in 1900, which organises the Maltese national teams (men’s and women’s), the Maltese Football League (men’s and women’s) and the Youth teams and leagues.
Based right in the middle of Malta, at Ta’ Qali, the MFA looks after the National Stadium, the Centenary Stadium and the centre’s swimming pool, gym, training and physiotherapy facilities.
