Maltese Music Charts.The Maltese charts are probably some of the best known musical lists among the younger generations and most local radio stations carry the list regularly. This chart list was compiled from 897bay, but other charts can also be found on Vibe FM, etc.

No.10 in the Maltese Music Charts is “Tonight” by Seether. Seether is a South African rocker band and they have been around for 12 years.

In March the Royal Commonwealth Society launched an exciting new project, the Jubilee Time Capsule. This is a unique social archive that aims to tell the people’s history of the last 60 years through a range of innovative media. Next year the Capsule will be presented to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to mark Her Diamond Jubilee.

The RCS wants stories from all over the Commonwealth, and Malta is no exception!

Rolling News Update Live from Libya

Libya News 2011Reliable sources in Tripoli have confirmed that over 500 persons have died in late night clashes between government sponsored troops and protesters against the Gaddafi government in the capital and surrounding towns.

Other sources have reported seeing thousands of foreign mercenaries roaming the streets and more are being brought in to stem the rebellion. Serbian pilots are reputed to be manning the planes which are dive bombing protesters.

Malta Eurovision 2011 Finalists

Kelly Schembri at Malta Eurovision Song FestivalThe Eurovision Song Contest this year will be hald in Dusseldorf, Germany from May 10th to 14th, and there will be 43 countries taking part. Last year’s winner was Lena Meyer-Landrut singing “Sattelite”; Malta’s entrant in 2010, Thea Garrett, unfortunately wasn’t selected to go through to the final.

24 acts are going to be battling it out to represent Malta this year, and amongst them are previous representative Fabrizio Faniello, and other well-known local performers such as Petra Zammit, Klinsmann Coleiro, J. Anvil and Claudia Faniello.
