Apple Mac Shops in Malta

Apple Logo

PC’s powered by Microsoft’s operating system are to-date dominating the market, however there is an ever increasing demand even locally for Apple computers too.

Although there are few Mac shops in Malta, prices are nevertheless quite competitive.

A popular Apple shop in Malta is iCentre by SG Solutions. This store is located in Pieta, a town close to Valletta, the capital city of Malta. They don’t have a website yet, but I understand it will be available very shortly too. Having said that, I suggest you shop around for prices, because you will find very interesting offers online for MacBooks, iPhone, iPod, etc. I will be listing on this page the best Mac prices I find too.

If you’re looking for an Apple laptop, you should take a look at the MacBook range. The new MacBook Pro is awesome and is said to be the world’s lightest and thinnest 17-inch notebook available on the market today. It comes standard with 4GB of memory, 320GB hard disk space, Nvidia GeForce 9600M with 512MB and an impressive built-in 8 hour battery. You can buy all Apple laptops, even the latest models, from any Mac shop in Malta.

The latest iPhone 3G or iPod Touch are available at reasonable prices locally too. You will also find good offers from all authorized Malta Apple shops for the iPod shuffle, nano or classic as well as many accessories such as in-ear headphones, leather cases, armband, universal dock and even for the Apple TV. If you need more information about Macs, you can visit the blog of my friend, he’s crazy about them! Feel free to leave below your reviews or comments of any Apple product.

    iCentre is a rip off, prices are way too high. I got mine from Target Tech, they are the cheapest in Malta but still not the same prices as from Ebay or other international site but you are taking a risk with these. Klikk and Scan they both buy from SG so prices will be the same, Target Tech have their own supplier so they are much more flexible with their prices. Not sure if their showroom is open yet!

  2. Brim Says:

    Darren, I understand that you might say that prices are more expensive in Malta @ iCentre.

    However if you do your homework well enough and think before you post messages online, you will notice that prices even vary between official Apple stores (comparing Apple Store US, Apple Store UK vs Apple Store Italy, is a clear example).

    Each country has different shipping costs (including insurance) and taxes. Did you know that in Malta the consumer pays Euro38.48 ECO contribution on laptops and computers? although Apple products are ECO friendly and recyclable. Check this out: http://www.apple.com/mac/green-notebooks/

    In this case … the government tax is the rip off!

    Since iCentre is the only Apple Authorised Service Provider in Malta, they offer you service that no other Apple seller in Malta will offer you. Most probably, if whatever you purchased not from iCentre becomes faulty, you would still go to iCentre for after sales support. This is what actually happened to me and I learned from it.

    I really did not mind paying a little extra when I purchased my laptop from them and in return they gave the service and information I needed. If we do not support proper authorised companies based in Malta like iCentre, a day will come when we find their doors closed.

    By the way, their website has been launched some time ago and can be found at icentre.com.mt

    Brim,

    You might think that SG Solutions are Apple’s official reseller but they are not, if they are they would be listed in Apple’s website like Vodafone Malta and all other official resellers! I would call iCentre a complete scam from A to Z. I got my new unibody Macbook from Target Tech for 1,110 Euros. That’s more than 120 Euros cheaper than any of the Maltese so called official resellers! It is also cheaper than Apple in Italy and all the other eurozone Apple. I had an old iBook for 5 years I never once had problems with it, if something arises I will take it to Target Tech and they deal with it as they have to honor the warranty.

    I am sorry, but I support myself not greedy get rich quick like SG owners. I could do or buy something else with the money I saved. I get your point, but SG is a scam for me. I was shocked at their prices and the fact they call themselves official!

  4. Gan Says:

    SG Solutions rips you off as soon as you enter their shop. Sorry Brim, but you sound like you have a share of their company. You are saying you like spending more money when you know their products are not worth that much? Darren, I never heard of Target Tech but the price you mentioned is better than the Apple store in Europe. Found their website, but it is still closed so I can’t see all their prices, I guess they are new (hopefully they keep those prices not to just attract new customers). I am sure you can get better deals from ebay though (If you want to risk with no support).

    As for SG being official, Darren you might be right as I couldn’t find any Malta Reseller for Mac, but Vodafone for iPhone. Shame on you SG! Lying is bad business!

    Hi guys, I’m looking everywhere to buy an Apple MacBook Pro.

    13″ 2.26ghz from Target is €1,150, but I want the the 2.53ghz. From Apple Italy it’s €1,399, from SG Solutions it’s over €1,450 and they don’t have in stock. Can’t find same model on Target Tech’s website.

    Any help please guys of where I can find the best deal … and do Apple Store UK ship to Malta?

  7. Mark Smith Says:

    At LaptopsDirect I found a MacBook Pro 13″ C2D 2.53Ghz for only £1,089.97 (around €1,240) and they deliver to Malta too.

  8. Gan Says:

    LaptopsDirect is a complete scam from A 2 Z. Search for and read the online reviews and you will know what I am talking about.

  9. Peter James Says:

    @Mark Smith

    LaptopsDirect are a fantastic company. I recently purchased a Sony Vaio half the price of local Maltese high street stores. You need to pay for delivery, but the total price of the laptop still falls below half price.

    @Gan

    If you strangely don’t like LaptopsDirect try Savapoint. If you search online about any company you will find only negative comments, people don’t complain if something good happens. Take this blog post for example … at the moment you will see both negative and surprising positive comments about the same company. Personally I purchased my notebook from LaptopsDirect and I didn’t have any problems, I strongly recommend this shop to anyone who’s looking to buy from Malta.

  10. Gan Says:

    I did buy from LaptopsDirect, just pray you will NEVER have any problems with your laptop as they will try to avoid you at all costs. I got hung upon two times while calling their so called support line … they are good until you have a problem, then you will regret of ever hearing the name LaptopsDirect. I had to repair my laptop in Malta and the final cost ended up more, than if I would have bought it from Malta in the first place.

    @Lino Tabone

    If you want try out ebay, great prices but no support at all, from my experience AVOID LaptopsDirect + shipping is about €60 alone!!! They even charge you for using a credit card. Maltese Mac stores, Target Tech is the cheapest, I asked for a price list and the MacBook you requested is €1,345 from them, so it’s cheaper than Italy.
