Go apple.com and go support from there. If Malta does not give you the support you need, tell them they won’t be happy.

Apple has got international warranty no matter where you are in the world. That’s part of their great service, no matter if accidental or factory fault they always replace for free. Only in Malta they charge for software restore although its obvious that its a factory fault. Anyway any apple device like ipod, ipad and iphone can have their software reset, restored or updated through itunes always for free, so don’t pay anyone to do this. I had an iphone and warranty run out. I contacted Apple through their website and they replaced it with a brand new one sealed in a box. Apple has great products and service, only Maltese businessmen gives it a bad name.

I also noticed that iCentre never seem to have anything in stock, so now I go to Klikk who is also an Apple Authorized reseller and always seems to have MacBooks in stock. Also the salesman there is much more helpful, knowledgeable and polite.

I have been redirected to the Msida ICentre by SG solutions with my son’s faulty iPod. The guy at the desk checked for the validity of the waranty and said it still holds, the purchase was made in October 2010. He checked inside the headphone socket to inspect the humidity marker, then in a blunt manner he told me that if it is a software problem they will charge me over 16 euros for a simple restore, which i did already myself.

Then he noticed two marks on the side and warned me that it have been droped. However he said that it might be replaced after they test it. I’m sure it is a hardware problem, I read about similar problems on the net. They will get back to me in about three days time.

@Pauline: Sorry, have got rid of the Apple Mac. Do not have ClarisWorks.

I do still have an Apple II 1980 version, if anybody wants it (in Malta).

Depends if the guarantee still holds or not. If not, they are very upfront and will tell you how much any repair will cost including labour.

My son’s iPod is 6 month old and developed a fault, it is switching off all the time and I wish to repair it. Do you think if I take it to SG solution is worth it? Help please! Thanks.
